I have been thinking a lot about this lately... Waiting... I hate it!
(I guess it's part of the whole instantaneous society we live in!)
Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. It's not even a fun word!
BUT, as I am so often reminded, "God's Clock Keeps Perfect Time!"
I have been Pinterest-ing a LOT lately! Anything from how to organize the nursery, the best children's books for foster and adopted kiddos and even an article on "what to do while you wait for a placement!" There are so many different ideas on what to do "in the meantime." We can make scrapbooks of relatives who live far away. We can write letters to our foster kids that they can read when they get a little older. We can buy children's books and toys. We can get the nursery decorated (which, I'm thankful that that project is now crossed off our list!). We can research books on attachment, discipline and just parenting in general.
Preparation: this is what we are called to do. Right now. God has things to teach us. Right now. Before we get a placement. Things that we may not learn otherwise. God is teaching patience. God is teaching reliance on Him. God is teaching us to pray. Praying for our future foster kiddos. Praying for the bio parents (sometimes not as easy as it sounds!)
God has given me a peace. He has everything under control.
I love this song by John Waller:
"I'm waiting, I'm waiting on You Lord
And I am peaceful, I'm waiting on You Lord
Though it's not easy. No. But faithfully, I will wait.
Yes, I will wait."
